“My name is Owen, and I run a web agency. Every day is super hectic for me and my team. We design websites, build apps, deal with clients, and have to stay updated on all the latest tech trends.

It’s a real juggling act!

I work alone (sometimes with a few freelancers), so I have to do the design and development work myself.

I’m also running around dealing with client meetings, answering emails, and putting out little fires here and there.

We’ve got clients from all sorts of businesses, so every day brings new challenges.

And then there’s marketing—getting our name out there, bringing in new business. That’s another full-time job in itself!

Yes, if you limit your daily tasks, you might have A LOT more things left to do.

After all, it takes a lot to run a company.

Have a capable team to handle the other tasks you don’t have time for.

This is where outsourcing (or hiring) becomes crucial.

You should figure out which tasks to outsource, which positions to hire for, and how to find great talent.

Your hires will have to be skilled enough for you to be able to delegate some of your less important tasks with minimal supervision.

You can consider outsourcing tasks that take up a lot of time and those that require specific skills like design, building websites, hiring, and managing accounts.

You don’t have the time to do all of those things in a day. You shouldn’t be doing them anyway!

Let someone else, with the right skills, handle them.

Learn to prioritize and use time effectively

Define specific and measurable goals for yourself and your team.

This brings clarity and focus, aligning your efforts towards those objectives.

Break down big goals into smaller milestones to make it easier for your team to manage and track your progress.

Our team has a weekly progress meeting to have everybody on the same page so that we all get to encourage one another to get things done.

Ditch distractions that take up your CEO’s time

Distractions can be the Grim Reaper of productivity.

Find strategies to minimize interruptions during work hours.

Switch off notifications during work.

The only “disturbances” I allow during work are my daughters; they can come into the office any time of the day. Within reason.

You might not know exactly how long a task will take, but you can have a set approximate schedule for you to do it.
